VERSAJET II Hydrosurgery System

Smith & Nephew Medical Ltd., United Kingdom
The VERSAJET system enables surgeons to selectively and precisely remove and evacuate non-viable tissue, bacteria, and contaminants from wounds, burns, and soft tissue injuries using a tissue-sparing surgical technique. Advanced hydrosurgery technology reduces wound closure time and overall treatment costs.

Indications:
Designed for surgical wound debridement (acute and chronic wounds, including burns), soft tissue sanitation, and wound cleansing in situations where surgical intervention with pulsed fluid jet is deemed necessary by the clinician.

Mechanism of Action:
  • The high-speed fluid jet passes through the operating window into a collection reservoir,
  • creating a localized vacuum for tissue cutting and simultaneous aspiration of debris
  • (Venturi effect).
  • Uses a high-pressure saline stream for optimal surgical debridement.
  • The thin, blade-like jet moves tangentially along the wound, removing necrotic tissue,
  • bacteria, and debris while preserving surrounding viable tissue.
  • Produces a clean and smooth wound surface rapidly.
